Very nice 1860's Base Ball Nine CDV. Blank backed as the earlier CDV's were, with no frame line, again dating it to the early 1860's of a team of unknown baseball players. While the photo is taken in front of a large building similar to a college, the men look too old to be college students. Perhaps this is a team from a larger city taken in front of a large tenement building of the day which would make more sense. Each man has a matching cap and plain white shirts/jerseys. There is a ball and bat in the foreground.
The piece is as nice as the day it was made, with no defects of any kind. Also of note it is a bit larger than standard CDV's, measuring a full 4 1/8" x 2 1/2" further dating it an earlier produced CDV.
