1867 Xenia Ohio BBC small cut down albumen photo that portrays the team of nine seated in a studio with Bats, Caps and what appears to be a workman style glove on the floor in front of them. Each in full uniform with a cursive style capital X on their jerseys. The piece measures 2 9/16" x 3 1/2" having been cut down at some point, so it was probably larger than a CDV, but that is unknown. The players are not identified, but a couple also appear on a known 1868 Xenia CDV as well, so it might be possible to find names by researching the two and school records for those years. The 1868 version appeared at auction several years ago, along with two other different local BBC CDV's and the lot brought very strong money. While the players are not ID'd, the fact that the team is, makes the piece quite desirable among collectors. The photo has "1867 Elmira N. Y." penciled on the back, why is not known, however it's possible that they played a game there and that's when the image was taken.
