1911 Hallock's World's Championship Base-Ball Series First Game Post Card. Underwood & Underwood Litho of the Polo Grounds and superimposed key players from the first game of the 1911 World Series, each listed on the right side of the post card, Mathewson, Bender, McGraw and Connie Mack. The back has a postmark of Dec 5 1911, to a Mr. Lewis Jaques of Elmira City, NY and advertising for the Hallock's store. A quick internet search reveals only this example, selling prior, in a 2008 REA auction. A very scarce, perhaps rare, post card. Normal corner wear for a 100+ year old post card and a penned X on the back. With the post card market being particularly strong, especially for unusual or one off items, this may well be a piece to buy and hold, while appreciating it's beauty at the same time.
