1939 Father & Son Shoes near set - Extremely Rare!!
This set was put out in the Philadelphia area and was comprised of players from the Athletics and Phillies. This series is so rare that most collectors have never seen or heard of them. At a recent convention many long time dealers said they had never seen any before. In this group we have 12 different of the 17 known players and 18 cards in total. It might be the most diverse condition set we have offered too. It goes from SGC 88 to several cards in poor or AUT condition. There might even be one or two, as can be seen, that a grading company won't grade. When thinking about acquiring any cards from this little known set, it is better to have one and upgrade later, than to not have one. Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. The blank backs have varying degrees of residue on them. The players are as follows- *Newsome was a late addition.
