Late 1890's Varney Anderson cabinet photo, taken by J. F. Armstrong of Rockford, Illinois, presumably when Anderson was winding down his baseball career with stops on the Rockford team in 1897 and 1899. Images of Anderson are scarce, as he only made it into the last year of Old Judge card production and no others. Measures 7" x 9" with a nice unblemished image, the mount with wear and chipping as seen. With the interest in cabinet photos of early obscure ballplayers on the rise, the time to get them is now.
