Jos Wood 1880s Cabinet cards Group of 5 N167 photos. Here we have a rough but extraordinarily scarce, if not unique, group of cabinet cards from Joseph Wood. They are probably the same photos used to make some of the first Old Judge series, N167. The backings are not adhered but were probably adhered at one point. They look original, period and came with the photos. That is about all we know about them. It will be a long time, if ever, that there will be another chance to acquire these type of cabinet photos. Though one other set is purported, we don't know where it landed. This might be your first and last chance at them. The players are Tom Deasley, Corcoran, Joe Gerhardt, Pete Gillespie and Danny Richardson. The 2011 SCD lists these at $3000 each (for commons) in very good condition. **Added info- There are only 2 printed backs as shown and both are loose or detached from their photos but it is clear they were attached at one time. The rest of the backs are blank. Most of the cards have had their thicker backing lost although a few still have it. They are approximately 4 x 6.
