1895 Mayo Cut Plug John Ward, New York the Retired variation. SGC 30, appears much nicer, solid square corners with no rub on the front which is quite common with this issue. The reason for the downgrade, a small area of adhered paper at the top of the back, which is from the original Mayo package, a bit of the purple still showing. Crease free as well. This card would rival most 60's or even 70's in terms of presentation. A Mayo HOFer with great eye appeal!
