Circa 1880's Pen/Pencil box measuring 7 7/8" long x 2" wide and 1 1/2" tall. The top adorned nine Baseball players, all images similar but not the same as those used in the N284 Buchner Gold Coin set. Each has a position below him. A bit of chipping to the edges of the top decorative piece, but basically all of the images unaffected. Contains an old time ink pen and a small antique tool. The exterior of the box appears to be japanese black laquer. Normal wear and rub to the edges and bottom of a one-hundred+ years old wooden item. One of a pair, that can occasionally be found, most recently we find the pair selling in a 2016 REA auction for over $700.
