Circa 1960's Wilson Famous Player Baseball Uniform Autographed by Al Kaline & Luis Aparicio, personalized to Barry Halper. From a 2007 REA Auction we offer their write up on this portion of the group lot it came from:
A Wilson “Famous Player” youth baseball uniform that is endorsed on the box lid by both Al Kaline and Luis Aparicio. Year unknown, appears to be circa 1960. The lid features illustrations of each player and has been inscribed, respectively, in blue marker by Kaline (“To Barry – Best Wishes – Your Friend – Al Kaline”) and Aparicio (“To my pal Barry – a real nice item – your friend Luis Aparicio”). Each inscription grades “6.” The box (13 x 9.5 x 3 inches) displays moderate wear, including a few abrasions, and is in Good to Very Good condition. The uniform is included and consists of a jersey, pants and cap, each of which displays heavy use. In Good condition overall. From the Barry Halper Collection.
We would correct the original description to say that the unifom and cap shows very little wear, there are a couple of stains on the uniform that may come out. The uniform is a Cardinals uniform and has Stan Musial's #6 on the back. A scarce collectible in original box, with two HOFer autographs to one of the 20th centuries most prolific collectors, Barry Halper, what more could one want in an item.
