Brockelman & Luckey Fall 2012 Auction

1910 S81 Silk Premium of Ty Cobb, a very scarce premium available from Helmar Turkish Trophies Cigarettes for 25 coupons, as it took quite a few coupons, probably very few were ever obtained by an individual in the course of one year and even fewer survive. The Cobb is the granddaddy of all. With a little bit of research, we have found only only two examples which have recently sold, this one which was sold in March of 2012 by Legendary and the only one they have handled. One other nicer one was sold one in 2010 and later in the 2012 REA auction, which our consignor of this silk now owns, so it has been taken out of the market. If you want to acquire this exceedingly rare piece, here may be your only opportunity for the forseeable future. This silk has some separation which could be professional restored and matted and would display magificently, as the central image of Cobb is undamaged.
