1916 Postcard captioned Recreation Hour, Men Playing Ball, Illinois State Penitentiary, Joliet, ILL. Mailed from Joliet, Illinois on June 3, 1916. A nice insight into the importance of Baseball in the the early 20th century. Early Baseball theme postcards continue to rise in popularity and value. Many can be bought quite inexpensively, but are certainly very difficult to find. A neat and meaningful message written on the back, a vestige of a bygone era.
