Exceedingly scarce 1917 Boston Store #180 Honus Wagner, Pittsburgh Pirates. Only ten examples graded by PSA and SGC combined! The highest a 5 by PSA and a 4 by SGC. The offered card was submitted by us with a large group of other Boston Store and related 1917 issues from the collection of a long time collector acquired over two decades ago. Several cards graded high, some came back AUT due to being just so ever slightly short top to bottom(about 1/32"), this the only star card, the rest commons.

The card displays at the Exmt or better level, there are a pair of very light indentations in the lower right corner, similar to thumbnail marks or such and only show when rotated in the light at an angle, mentioned for complete and full accuracy. It's also possible they are in the stock and the card came this way, they do not show in the scans. Whatever the technical aspects of this card merit, the eye appeal and scarcity more than make up for. We did weigh the option of resubmitting to another service but ultimately decided to offer the card exactly as received upon the first submission. Perhaps one could resubmit to a 3rd party graded of their choice and receive different results, perhaps not. Either way, the card as it sits is a key acquisition for the set or Wagner collector and an opportunity not often found. As a comparison, the PSA 5 was recently offered at auction and brought $9,900. The offered SGC AUT is better centered and has less corner wear. The back is bold and clean as well.

Only one lucky bidder will get the card, good luck to all!
