The holy-grail of 1950's-1970's Basketball cards, the 1957 Topps #77 Bill Russell, Boston Celtics. This is his Rookie Card and a very nice one at that, PSA 4, with very nice centering front and back.
In years past this would not have been out of place in a 5 holder, in fact this card presents better than many 5's. It is the best centered 4 that we can find that is listed on the PSA Auctions Prices in recent times. Worthy of a strong bid, the Russell Rookie has seen a steady uptick in pricing over the last year, which continues to date, the most recent SMR raising the prices across the grading spectrum for it as well. When the modern card run-up has had it's day, this key-card to the 1957 Topps set will still be a mainstay in every top-shelf basketball collection. This is an opportunity to acquire one while the price is still quite reasonable when compared to some of the prices being paid for other basketball cards!

Freshly graded, sold to the consignor by us nearly twenty years ago, out of a shoebox purchase from a family collection. No worries of doctoring.

At the current time there are three or four other 1957 Topps Russell Rookie cards graded by PSA from 3-5 in other online auctions, NONE of them present as nice as this one, as all are markedly off-center. The card offered here is the nicest of all of them by far!
