Early 1900's Baseball team lithograph undivided back postcard. Features nine players, one of which, the Captain is Louis Pieper who attended and later Coached the Harvard Baseball team in 1907 and 1908. The other players with their names at the bottom of the image are Borden, Houghton, Phoenix, McCarthy, Welch, Loughlin, Biggans and Raferty. This may well be Tom Raferty that later played it the PCL. Chances are this was a team in the Connecticut/Massachussetts area, as Pieper managed Rockville in 1904 and 1905, and Fitchburg in 1906. Out best guess this might be the Fitchburg team of 1906 on which he played first base. Further research may bear out more identifications and exact team/year. The Catcher is McCarthy, who may be William John "Bill" McCarthy who was from the Boston area as well, as most of these are New England area players.
