Small size 5 3/16" x 4 3/16" cabinet card portraying a live baseball game or practice of the Phillips Exeter Academy of Exeter, New Hampshire. The back has extensive manuscript detailing the subjects in the photo. Chase is the Catcher at the plate in quilted pants and full Exeter uniform, Mr. Stetson the Professor of History at the school is holding the bat, and students Hayden, Doane and Wilson are seated on the bench. There are also another boy and girl near the diamond and others spectators are visible in the background. The image is nice and fairly clear, there are two tackholes from displaying, the back has the manuscript all readable. Lastly there is a notation "property of Phil Rand" in the lower right corner.
