1910 George Davis Company Orange Borders Complete Box with Art Devlin, New York Giants on one side and the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates Team with Honus Wagner on the other. This is the same box sold by REA in 2016 and at the time proclaimed by them to be the only known complete box. They did mention another box known with the end flaps missing, which we are also offering in this auction. The offered Devlin/Pirates box has an even bit of wear to the edges and some minor spots of soiling, mentioned only for accuracy, as the rarity of the item far outweighs any of the miniscule condition issues. To date we have only seen one other complete 1910 Orange Borders box, also with Devlin and the 1909 American League Champions
We will start the bidding at the exact opening bid of the 2016 sale and see how it fares in todays much more mature market where rarities such as this bring top dollar and are put away in long-term collections.
