Very scarce and highly desirable United Photo & Press Service photograph entitled "The Champion Cats" featuring the 1923 Texas League Champions and Dixie Series Champs, the Fort Worth Cats, one of the best Minor League teams to ever play a game. They won many consecutive titles in the 1920's and prior. Measures 7 3/8" x 5 5/8" with all of players names etched into the negative, also a comprehensive listing of the players and the teams record for several years. Managed by former big-leaguer Jake Atz, the Fort Worth team was a powerhouse under his management. Also comes with a photocopy excerpt from a book about the team and more handwritten stats on each player. Several of these players made it to the Majors, either before or after their stint with the Cats. Highlighted by Cuban Baseball HOFer Jacinto Calvo. A couple of very light creases, the image flawless.
