Interesting lot of Baseball CDV's from the 1860-1870 era. One of a player with a B in Star on his unform, his bat at his side displaying the same insignia. The second of a man in his uniform with scarf taken by John Bainbridge, Trenton, N.J., the third of a young man with a very large bat at his side, a forth of the "Class of '68 Freshman Team" of which one of the players was James A. Chase, this is probably an Ivy League school or the equivalent. A ball and two bats in the foreground, one of the players with a workman's mitt. The fifth a CDV of a young boy in porcelain statue, entitled "Base Ball" although he does appear to be holding a Cricket bat. The back has Rogers penciled on it, the statue may be the work of fabled procelain statues of the late 19th century. An interesting lot with value far above the opening bid, a little detective work my further enhance the value of some of these.
