1912 Major League Baseball game made by the Philadelphia Game Mfg. Co. comes in a wooden box that is made of oak. The box opens with a hinge at one end and you play inside the box. The instructions for play are printed inside the box.
It has line up cards for 2 of the major teams with player names, position and the batting order. The teams are from 1924, Detroit AL and St. Louis NL. At the time you could send in a 1 cent postcard every year and get the latest years batting order for each team free! (The complete game would have all the team line up cards from that era.)
Spin the metal arrow and you’ll have a hit, home run, an out, a fowl, etc. There are two of the original pegs included and some later homemade round place markers also included that are not original to the game. The inside is in pretty nice shape, a few of the pins are missing from the spinning wheel but can be easily replaced. The outside of the box has some damage, but still intact.
Box meaures approx. 19'' by 13'' when closed.
Patented Oct. 22, 1912.
